Let p be an odd prime, E a finite, unramified extension of Q_p, and F the field obtained by adjoining a primitive p^n-th root of unity to E. Sharifi has recently extended work by Greither in describing explicit generators for the unit groups U_i as modules over the Z_p-group ring of Gal(F/Q_p). The norm-residue symbol can be applied to these generators to compute conductors of degree p^n Kummer extensions of F. I will give examples in simple cases of how both the generators and conductors are obtained.
