In this talk, I present a classification of 5d SCFTs with two-dimensional Coulomb branch. This is accomplished by studying local Calabi-Yau threefolds containing a complex surface with two intersecting irreducible projective components, possibly attached to other noncompact components, such that the entire configuration arises as a crepant resolution of a canonical threefold singularity. This talk is based on joint work in progress with Patrick Jefferson, Hee-Cheol Kim, and Cumrun Vafa.
