In these two talks I will discuss joint work with Ted Chinburg and Luc Illusie concerning an extension of Mazur's deformation theory of Galois representations to deformations of complexes. The goal is, after giving an introduction to the subject, to decribe new results (since last summer) concerning the obstruction theory and related questions and examples.
