For curves C_1, C_2 of genus not equal to 1 over arbitrary fields, it is known that the bounded derived categories of C_1 and C_2 are equivalent if and only if the curves are isomorphic. The case of genus 1 is much richer. In this talk I´ll describe some recent joint work in progress with Ben Antieau on understanding derived equivalence for genus 1 curves over arbitrary fields.
