We will present a new isoperimetric estimate for embedded closed curves whose total length is normalized to 2*Pi and which evolve by the curve shortening flow. This result yields a curvature bound for the curve shortening flow which in turn leads to a direct proof of GraysonA's theorem. This work is due to Andrews and Bryan (2011).
