We will start with an easy statement about square-integrable holomorphic functions on the unit disk. We will interpret it geometrically and then extend the result to higher dimensions. We will obtain a nice geometric inequality about proper mappings between balls in different dimensions. To do so we introduce a notion of orthogonal homogenization.
