Jingye Yang will discuss the total curvature of knotted spheres in Euclildean space, and give a lower bound based on the minimal number of generators for the fundamental group of the complement of the sphere.

Chris Catone will give an introductory lecture on the method of moving frames, and its relation to total curvature of embedded submanifolds of Euclidean space.
