Note we are not meeting in Towne 100 this week.

The traditional view of gene regulation is that certain proteins reach particular threshold before activating a downstream gene. The timing of this progression, however, is not intrinsically aware of the timing of the expression of other genes in the cell. In the worm C. elegans, we provide evidence for precise coordination of gene expression timing. We discuss some possible mechanisms for this coordination. We will also provide some preliminary evidence for gene organization playing a key role in coordination and maintenance of robust gene expression patterns.
