Following Y. Henrio, we define the Hurwitz tree associated to an action on the rigid open disc over a p-adic field. This construction can be reversed, reducing the local lifting problem to the construction of certain Hurwitz trees. Using this approach, I. Bouw and S. Wewers have shown that D_p is a local Oort group.
