The talk will survey results of the speaker and John Morgan relating variations of Hodge structure, special automorphisms of K-theory, and torsion in K-theory for mirror pairs of Calabi-Yau threefold hypersurfaces and complete intersections in Gorenstein toric Fano varieties. The speaker intends to keep it fairly general and accessible (hopefully even to graduate students in geometry).
