The purpose of this lecture is to describe topolological decompositions of moment-angle complexes as well as associated spaces. These decompositions imply results for the cohomology of these spaces, Davis-Januszkiewicz spaces, as well as certain toric varieties. This lecture is based on joint work with A. Bahri, M.
