Pairs of compatible Dirac structures on a manifold, or more generally on a Lie algebroid, are defined in terms of Nijenhuis relations, generalizing the the Nijenhuis operators. Pairs of compatible Poisson structures (bi-Hamiltonian structures), and also P-Omega structures are examples. We shall review the relationships between various pairs of compatible structures.
