Let G be a finitely generated residually finite group. This talk will discuss recent efforts to understand to what extent the set of finite quotients determine G. We will discuss examples of when there is ârigidityâ and when there is âflexibility, with particular interest being when G is the fundamental group of a low-dimensional manifold.
