Second of two talks.

This is the second of two talks about my PhD thesis. The talk will be split between two topics. The first topic concerns the relationship between the field of moduli and fields of definition. I will present several results, among them an improvement on an earlier result by Kevin Coombes and David Harabter. This has implications towards the Inverse Galois Problem. The second topic concerns the action of the Frobenius on the prime-to-p part of etale fundamental groups of curves over finite fields. While this topic remains mysterious, an analogy between finite fields, strictly henselian DVR's, and the field of real numbers suggests interesting questions. I will present answers to some of these questions.
