Zeolites are ubiquitous (their uses range from laundry detergents to nuclear power generation to laundry detergent to cat litter) materials with a very beautiful molecular structure. 48 zeolites occur naturally, and some 150 have been synthesized to date. I will talk about a long-running project with Mike Treacy (ASU physics department) to produce a census of possible zeolites and to produce designer zeolites (those with specific chemical properties).
