An important theme in mathematics is to study objects as they vary in families. When particularly lucky, one may construct a space which parametrizes the collection of all such objects in a nice way. Such a space is called a moduli space. In this talk I will give examples of moduli spaces and illustrate their usefulness in algebraic geometry.
