A sequence of n-dimensional Riemannian manifolds with bounded curvature and diameter may converge to a metric space of dimension strictly less than n. In such cases, we say that the sequence collapses. We will present some examples of collapse and discuss results by Fukaya and Yamaguchi about sequences collapsing to smooth manifolds.
