We give an overview of some of the combinatorial models for key polynomials and Demazure atoms. After the introduction, we define a t-deformation of Demazure atoms. These can be seen as the specialization q=0 in the non- symmetric Macdonald polynomials, and we state some interesting conjectures about these related to the charge statistic on SSYT.
