In 1956 Milnor proved the existence of exotic 7-spheres. One question that arose was what kind of curvature do these admit. I will present the results of Gromoll and Meyer that show that at least one of the exotic 7-spheres admits non-negative curvature, and outline later results that refine the curvature properties of this particular 7-sphere.
