I will describe and review the recently developing theory of Prym varieties for higher degree cyclic covers of curves. Additionally, I will discuss some work in progress, some of which is joint work with Angela Ortega, concerning the Schottky-Jung relations, fibers of Prym maps, and noninjectivity for higher degree cyclic covers.
