Many know that the Fibonacci numbers count tilings of the nx1 board by 1x1 squares and 2x1 dominoes. There is a natural q-analogue of the Fibonacci numbers which arises by assigning a weight to such tilings. We will figure out the q-analogues of some of our favorite Fibonacci identities and give combinatorial proofs of them.
