The curvature terms which define Kapranov's homotopy Lie algebra structure on the tangent bundle of a Kaehler manifold X actually represent Atiyah classes. This observation leads to a neat reformulation interpreting the shifted tangent bundle as a Lie algebra object in the derived category of coherent sheaves on X. We will then see how to construct more Rozansky-Witten type weight systems, and how PBW becomes HKR.
