Gerrymandering is the practice of dividing a geographical area into electoral districts, often of highly irregular shape, to favor one political party. New technology has led to the development of precise gerrymandering tools that can seriously affect the outcomes of elections. This talk will explain why, and how, and proposes a new electoral system that eliminates the possibility of gerrymandering, yet preserves single-member districts.
