As time goes on, cryptography uses more complex mathematical tools to ensure security. As an example, we may note that in the last years the arithmetic of elliptic curves has been applied to cryptography. More recently, as a generalization, the arithmetic on the Class Group of a hyperelliptic curve is being studied. The talk explains in more detail this last generalization and what are the related aspects being developed.
