I will talk about several chapters of Leila Schneps's paper "Automorphisms of curves and special loci in genus zero moduli spaces". The main topics will include: moduli spaces of curves as orbifolds and the mapping class group, geometry and special loci of genus zero moduli space and special homomorphisms of mapping class groups.
